EP.113 | Opening up your Overhead Positioning!!

Standing Preacher Stretch: a more advanced version of Puppy Dog

This particular stretch is fantastic for opening up your overhead positioning, as well as your front rack positioning for cleans and/or front squats.

Key Points for the Standing Preacher Stretch

-Assume a false grip on the bar (as shown in the video)
-Sink your hips back (similar to a good morning)
-Slowly let your lats & triceps open up to get ready to receive the barbell

How Long?

As needed.  As you experiment with this stretch, you will improve you positioning over time.  Some days may require a few minutes longer due to soreness and other tightness.
