EP.114 | KEEP 'EM DRY (AS POSSIBLE)
Keep 'em dry you say? Keep what dry? Barbells of course!
Due to the horrendous humidity that the summer months bring, it makes bar and gym maintenance much more difficult! As if it wasn't hard to keep up in the first place...
Ever walked into the gym during the summer months, only to find the bars sweating and the floor as slippery as an ice rink? Even if you don't live in a humid climate, chances are that most of you have encountered this in your workout career. Hello humidity!

WHY TO KEEP THEM DRY?
A damp, moist barbell will accelerate the oxidation, aka rust, reaction.
HOW TO COMBAT RUST
Ideally you must use an anti-rust & corrosion lubricant. Doing so will create a protective barrier between the steel of the bar and the outdoor elements.
WRAPPING IT UP...
--> A Bar a Day Keeps the Rust Away <--

--> Enlist Your Staff's Help! <--
You aren't alone! Ask your staff for help or build it into their responsibilities. Explain WHY it's essential.
--> Dry + Chalk-Free Knurling <--
A knurling free from moisture (as much as possible) and chalk stands a much better chance against time.
