EP.66 | How to Create Tension on the Barbell
Do you struggle with creating or maintaining tension on the barbell during the Olympic lifts? Being able to maintain tension on the bar will result in a greater chance of making the lift. Blaine takes us through a simple drill that he uses with his athletes to instill good habits.
#1 Grab a PVC (thinner diameter helps here)
#2 Snatch Grip
#3 Externally rotate the shoulders and squeeze your butt
#4 Breathe down into your belly
#5 Instruct the athlete to "break" the bar
